FALCONRY DISPLAY IN THE GROUNDS OF THE HIGHLAND CLUB (Wednesdays - 18th April - 24th October 2018)
This is a private display on the Loch shore within the grounds of The Highland Club. The display is approximately 1½ hours each week. Guests are welcome to watch but are unable to participate as this is a private event.

The swimming pool facilities are accessed via the abbey cloisters; this area is at ambient temperature therefore, for your ease and comfort you may prefer to walk to the pool in a robe/leisure wear. The changing area has limited space as it is located in a converted part of the abbey. It may be preferable to use the comfort of your apartment to shower and change pre and post and post swim. It is possible to hire robes on arrival. Please ask your property manager for details.
The Boat House restaurant is conveniently located within the grounds of The Highland Club. It should be noted that it is a private business. Reservations can be made direct with the restaurant. There is also a selection of other places to eat in the village (2 minutes by foot).

CRICKET AT THE HIGHLAND CLUB
During the summer we have local cricket matches taking place on the cricket lawn within the gounds of The Highland Club.
This has been made possible by a large financial donation from the developers of The Highland Club who provided funds for a Multi use games facility MUGA/cricket pitch. Last summer it provided a great deal of pleasure for our guests as they had the opportunity to watch local cricket matches within our grounds plus the use of the astro turf for a game of boules.

FISHING SEASON LOCHNESS
The fishing is by way of bank and boat for brown trout and salmon. The season is from the 15th of March till the 6th of October for browns and from Jan 15th till October for salmon. Sea trout and Ferox trout also available in Loch Ness, with Pike in the hill lochs. For further information contact www.fishing-uk-scotland.co.uk

The Inverness Christmas Lights Switch On Parade features a wonderful torchlight procession through the streets of Inverness behind Santa and the Provost. If you would like to be in the Parade gather at Crown Primary School from 5.15pm and just follow the Pipe Band!

INVERNESS HALF MARATHON AND 5K 2019
The Inverness ½ Marathon is the perfect Spring race following a scenic route with great PB potential through the Highland capital of Inverness.
The route starts alongside the banks of the River Ness near the centre of Inverness and takes in many of the city’s icons. A warm Highland welcome awaits all runners as they approach the finish line on entering Queen’s Park Stadium – achieved by over 2600 runners in 2018.

Merkinch Local Nature Reserve
Set in the heart of Inverness, Merkinch Local Nature Reserve is somewhat of a hidden gem, so much so that many people living close to it don’t realise it’s there! Merkinch is rich with native wildlife and owls, weasels, Roe deer, cormorants, herons and numerous wading birds have all been spotted.
Some very lucky people have even spotted an occasional Osprey and the Muirtown Pool’s kingfishers.

Set by a river in the heart of Inverness, Eden Court is the main cinema and theatre for the Highlands. Around Loch Ness tours
No trip to the Highlands is complete without a tour around Loch Ness. Knocknagael Boar Stone
The Knocknagael Boar Stone was carved by the Ancient Picts and dates to around 600AD. Hundreds of stones have been found across the Highlands and no-one’s entirely sure why they were made. Every stone is unique, but the Knocknagael Stone is a truly exquisite piece of art that anyone interested in ancient history should view and you can find it at the Highland Council’s Headquarters.
The Highlanders’ Museum
From the Battle of Culloden to today, The Highlanders’ Museum has the largest military artefact collection outside of London. Based within the working Fort George military barracks, The Highlanders’ Museum is set within the home of 3 SCOTS. The museum has a number of tours and activities throughout the summer months, providing fun for all the family.
The entertaining Nessieland is perfect for family-friendly fun, and the perfect place to find out all about the legend of the Loch Ness monster. Not only can you take part in Loch Ness monster investigations, you can learn about the loch itself, including its long and exciting history.
Nessieland has an adventure playground and the Nessie Cave, making it the perfect place to tire the kids out before enjoying a quiet night.
Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre
The Battle of Culloden was the last battle fought on mainland Britain, but it only lasted one hour! The new visitor centre has an exciting interactive exhibition where you can experience what it was like to be part of the battle and find out how it changed life in both the Highlands and throughout the British Isles.
